I sometimes ponder the question as to whether or not our country has raised enough future "Real Heroes" or not. Every time the subject of war comes up (and everybody agrees that war is horrible) and the question is asked, "will you serve your country?", it is not uncommon to hear, "Yes...but I don't want to fight", or "I'll serve but don't want my kids to fight in a war 2,000 miles from home", etc. Your dad came from that magic generation that had to be the way they were in the times they were needed most.

And you know your dad loved you...he was protecting his family first, which resulted in the country being protected. Our fathers and uncles stood when the call came, "Who will stand and fight?"

Please keep sharing...

Fred PierceTxnByBrthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16236034845146810053noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-435973749452451136.post-22121306328157856082008-01-07T09:37:00.000-06:002008-01-07T09:37:00.000-06:00Jesus Joe...Joe Sr. was not only a hero but a REAL...Jesus Joe...Joe Sr. was not only a hero but a REAL HERO. As ugly as war is, as it was then and is now, the question I turn over in my mind today is has this country raised enough heros to defend it again? I don't want my grandson, Jordan, to go into battle, but I'd be proud of him if he did. I guess the other question is how many and to what extent are we ready to sacrafice today for the future?

Looking forward to following your blog...please write more!
Fred PierceTxnByBrthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16236034845146810053noreply@blogger.com
